  • Patients age 45-65, requiring a screening colonoscopy who are in relatively good health with mild systemic disease.

  • Mild systemic disease includes controlled type two Diabetes Mellitus, hypertension, thyroid conditions, mild asthma, mild sleep apnea without the use of a cpap, and a BMI under 40.

  • Use of anticoagulants/antiplatelets, clotting/bleeding disorders.

  • Multiple or unstable co-morbidities.

  • Unstable cardiac disease, pacemaker/defibrillator, endocarditis, recent mycardial infarction (MI), atrial fibrillation, artificial heart valve, CHF.

  • Extensive abdominal surgery.

  • Gi bleeding, change in bowel movements, weight loss, bleeding, Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative colitis.

  • Type one insulin dependent diabetes.

  • Previous personal history of colon cancer.

  • Currently undergoing any cancer treatment.

  • Organ transplant.

  • Chronic narcotic use for pain control.

  • Previous problems with anesthesia.

  • Over the age of 65.

  • a BMI over 40.
